Lens/bokeh test of 40-110 year old lenses - April 2026

A quick test og non-Leica(rangefinder) lenses. Youngest heir Gerda agreed to model on the condition that she was allowed to do (her own) make up and that it wouldn’t take more than 15 minutes in total, and that she would get paid 50 kroners for modelling 🤩 It ended up taking an additional 3.5 minutes for the photographer for which he had to pay over time to the model who ended up with 85kr in her bank account after today’s gig. That meant that the photographer had to go through the 15 lenses in almost as many lens mounts extremely...

Ricoh GR IV - test shots from the new king of compact digital

So Ricoh spoiled us with another variant of their GR series: The GR IV. It has a new APS-C image sensor, improved autofocus and stabilization, but it remains faithful to its 28mm wide angle lens. We shot a few test shots November 2025. Just quick snaps, but they sure look nice! We did not have the new tiny external flash at our disposal so all of these are shot without a flash. CLICK ON THE IMAGES TO SEE THEM IN BIG SIZE. OOMC HOUSE DOG LILITH · ISO 800 · 1/250 · f5.6 Nice vibrant colors and lots of details. Jpeg straight...

Harman Phoenix II - new color film

Test of the 35mm variant. High resolution scans done on our Hasselblad Flextight X1 scanner. Shot on a Canon EOS 5 with Canon EF 50mm f2.5 Macro and Canon EF 100mm f2.0Shot indoors and outdoors. With and without flash. Portrait of the girl has been desaturated minus 10 in Photos hop, otherwise the colors are pretty much as the scanner "interprets" them. The film definitely has some green cast, and the yellows are very strong, like the first version of the Phoenix film. It works great with flash, so it's a good companion for all-auto-all-flash point and shoot cameras.  ...

GT 24 - "new" color film

We managed to get our hands on 600 rolls of a "new" ISO400 color film called "GT 24". The box says "Professional Quality" and that it's manufactured by a French company. So we decided to test it ourselves. Stan shot a roll on a cheap Canon autofocus SLR (EOS 50) with a 50mm f1.8, and our Managing Director went loco and mounted a manual focus ultrawide 15mm f5.6 lens on a newly serviced Nikon EM camera. Here are are few results. The Nikon ones were deliberately underexposed to see how the film would react under stress. The Canon ones were...

Test shot by us

While we - obviously - test every single film camera and lens that we put up for sale we can't - obviously - test all film cameras by shooting a roll of film and then develop and scan it, as it would be pretty time consuming and expensive. But many of the deluxe items we test with film as you can see when you browse through our inventory. In this case we are dealing with a 60+ year old beautiful Rolleiflex 3.5F with a famous Zeiss Planar lens. Our repair team serviced the camera beyond belief and we decided to test...
